Stuff I use.

The things I actually use, in my own words. Every link here pays me a small commission if you buy or sign up, at no extra cost to you, and each one says so right next to it.

Life Happns

My favourite is Level Up. Sometimes I need a little boost to keep grinding, but I don’t want to overdo it on coffee, so I take a Level Up instead of another cup. (It does still have some caffeine in it, and it was sold out when I wrote this in October.) It’s great to have options, and there are three more: Pour Decisions for a night out (liver support and hydration), Chillax for stress, and Do Not Disturb for sleep, without melatonin.* Code JOEY takes 15% off your order, and the link below puts it in for you.

Backpack

Knack

Knack sent me their Series 2 Medium Expandable Backpack for free, and I used it for a while before saying anything, because that seems right. I’m a server, so I carry a lot of small stuff to the restaurant and back, and just when you think there couldn’t possibly be more compartments, you find more. My apron goes in the front, there are three pen holders, and everything is lined with soft material, so sunglasses and Switch controllers don’t get wrecked. I usually carry it by the handle like a briefcase, but it’s a real backpack too. Not the fanciest thing in the world, and it doesn’t need to be. A solid 8 out of 10, maybe 8.5.

Money apps I use

Budgeting

Monarch

The budgeting app I use. I really like the UI, and it makes a paycheck easy to understand. Free for 7 days, then code SMARTMONEY takes 50% off your first year. The code is for the yearly plan, and only when you sign up on Monarch’s website, not in the app.

Budgeting · iPhone

Copilot

The other budgeting app I use. It is really clean. REALLY clean. The UI is lovely and I genuinely just like the colours, which sounds like a small thing until it’s the app you open every week. The automation is the other half: it categorises your transactions on its own and it is spooky good at it. iPhone only, and there’s a free trial, so you can see the whole thing before you pay for any of it.

The money apps are here because I use them, not as financial advice: I’m not licensed, I don’t know your situation, and product terms change, so check them on the product’s own site before you decide anything.
